6 years of Krishna Solanki Designs
Growth, milestones and reflections
It's funny but true when they say “Time flies when you’re having fun”.
At the start of February (1st Feb 2025), I marked six years of running Krishna Solanki Designs full-time. Six years of building, learning, and growing - both as a designer and as a business owner.
To think back to that moment when I was wondering how to climb the career ladder whilst having children and a family. For me, it didn’t happen while working for someone else. It happened when I trusted myself and took that leap of faith.
Maybe being pushed into a corner, and being indirectly forced to take redundancy whilst on mat leave (x2) is exactly what I needed.
In fact, it’s exactly what was needed. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you have focus, drive and determination.
the highlights
Year six of KSD has been an incredible one, filled with major milestones, challenges, and plenty of growth. As I reflect on the past year, I can confidently say that this has been a defining year for KSD.
Here are some of the highlights:
Secured our first long-term retainer contract - a big step in creating lasting client relationships, supporting them with branding, design, and website updates every month.
Decided to renovate our home (because running a business isn’t challenging enough!), while my eldest hit double figures - a big milestone in itself, and the youngest became less of a Tasmanian devil
Secured a couple of major projects within the life sciences sector, expanding the portfolio into new and exciting industries.
By summer (end of Q2 2024), KSD hit its financial goals for the year - a huge achievement and a testament to the work put in over the years.
In July, I officially turned Krishna Solanki Designs into a Limited Company - another major step in the agency’s journey.
Landed the biggest project to date - a bespoke Squarespace website redesign that pushed my creativity and expertise even further.
Took to the stage at Circle Day in New York in September - an incredible experience connecting with fellow designers and business owners.
Elevated my personal brand with multiple speaking engagements, including CamCreatives and Cambridge Network.
Hosted my first workshop - something I’d wanted to do for a while and will definitely be doing more of!
Had an impromptu moment meeting Chris Do in Cambridge - an unforgettable experience.
Rebalanced my schedule to incorporate learning and growth - including starting an SEO course to strengthen my expertise even further.
Looking back, this year has been about scaling up, stepping outside my comfort zone (even more!), and embracing new opportunities.
It’s been a year of pushing boundaries, growing confidence, and further proving to myself what’s possible.
Thank you!
A huge thank you to my clients, collaborators, and everyone who has supported KSD along the way.
Here’s to year seven - I can’t wait to see what’s next! I’m here for it.
